Our Trip to Paris

As promised, here are a few photos from our trip to Paris. Paris was absolutely amazing. We couldn't have asked for a better experience.

It was so incredible to walk down a street and look up and see the Eiffel Tower! Everything was in bloom. People were out and about, milling around at cafes, eating macaroons in the park ... everything you could want from Paris.

One of our most memorable touristy excursions (which I would highly recommend) was dinner in the Eiffel Tower. There are two restaurants inside the Eiffel Tower, one on the second floor (where we ate) and one higher up (which apparently you have to make reservations nearly a year in advance). The views up there are remarkable. You can see the whole city.

Our evening concluded with a boat cruise along the Seine River. At 8pm on the dot, as our boat began to pull away, the Eiffel Tower lit up in a million sparking lights. It was so spectacular! The cruise took us along the buildings and museums and landmarks all lit up at night. Absolutely beautiful. We listened to La Vie en Rose on the headphones and as our boat began to pull in, at 9pm, the Tower lit up for us once again. It was a magical night I hope I always remember.

This is how the street peddlers carry their tower figurines.

Notre Dame
Beyonce and Jay-Z walked right past us at Notre Dame ... 1 foot in front of us to get on the sidewalk where we were standing. I scrambled to get my camera but there was a bodyguard with them who waved in my face to stop. I did get 2 shots of them walking away. They were right there ... in Paris ... at the Notre Dame Cathedral ... the same time as us. Pretty cool.
