5 Things Making Me Happy Right Now

Ebay auctions
- I kind of forgot how much fun Ebay is. Last week, cooped up in the house, feeling like crap, and too exhausted to do anything productive, I got immense pleasure from bidding and outbidding and getting bargains on stuff I probably don't need. Case in point the deer figurine above ... actually I did need that because its totally awesome.

An organized closet - When we moved in to the apartment, it was an ordeal. It was all we could do just to find homes for things. I've recently done yet another purge of clothes and shoes from my closet ... two trash bags as a matter of fact. How in the heck did 2 trash bags of extra stuff fit in my little closet, that is the question. Things are so much more manageable now. In addition to the overall organization and purging, I have moved my shoes. Our closet has sliding doors which can make getting things in the corner of the closet (where the door doesn't slide) kind of tricky ... more than kind of, its a nuisance. For whatever reason, my shoe stand was in this corner. What a bad idea that was. This has been rectified and I think has shaved 10 minutes off of my getting ready time. Score.

My new black patent pumps - I love you. You go with everything. Where have you been all my life? xxoo

Snow - I don't have a yard to shovel. I don't have a car to drive. I live on the 47th floor. 10 feet of snow doesn't even phase me. When someone asks, "How much snow did you get?" I just look out my window and say, "No idea. Looks like a lot. Looks gorgeous!"

Bright pink nail polish - My nails say its spring.

Ranunculus is Not Contagious

Ranunculus ... isn't that an odd name for such a lovely flower? It sounds like a better description of the cough and cold I've been battling. Anyway, earlier this week I posted pictures of the get well flowers my dad sent which were so lovely. There was a flower in particular I really liked, kinda looks like a rose ... but not a rose ... kinda of cabbage-ish like a peony (another personal favorite). Of course mom knew exactly what it was ... none other than a Ranunculus! I pulled one out the arrangement and put it in a bud vase on my nightstand (photo above). Cute huh? I think I love the Ranunculus. Plus its a blast to say Ranunculus. Just try ... Ranunculus. Ranunculus. Yep I think its a new favorite ... only downside is it doesn't smell. It looks like it should smell heavenly, but alas nothing. Enjoy some pics below of some lovely Ranunculus. Isn't it pretty?

Whatever Dreams You're Dreaming

Music: Dog Days are Over - Florence + the Machine

Poem: Whatever Dreams You're Dreaming

Whatever dreams you're dreaming,
May each one of them come true.
Whatever plans you're making,
May they all work out for you.
And may you have more happiness
Than any words can tell.
Not only on this day,
But all the year as well.
May you have a little sunlight
to guide you on your way.
May you discover, little by little,
happiness that's here to stay.
May you grow a little stronger
and a little wiser with each dawn
May you have a little time to
believe in dreams to dream upon
May all the joy your heart desires
find its way to you.
And may the blessings that brighten up your days
keep on shining through.

Get Well Flowers

I have been under the weather the past few days and am finding it is hard to make a sick person's room not look like a sick person's room. Mine currently reeks of Sucrets and Vick's Vapor Rub. However, the most beautiful arrangement just arrived to perk me right up. If I didn't feel so terrible, I might want to be sick more often just for the flowers!
Thank you. Love you. Cough.

Philadelphia Murals

The city of Philadelphia is covered, covered, covered in murals ... over 3,000! The Philadelphia Mural Arts Program began in 1984, an effort to eradicate the graffiti crisis plaguing the city.

We spent some time in Philadelphia last weekend and I snapped a few shots. There is also a bus tour of murals which I think would be fun to do sometime. For now, here are a few photos from our visit.
